Hopegrown.org exists to serve patients and families that seek to improve quality of life by using cannabis as an alternative or complementary medicine.
It started when founders Pete and Peter, friends and medical marijuana patients themselves, discovered how difficult it was to be a marijuana patient in their hometown of Los Angeles. They then imagined how much more difficult this process must be for someone older or a patient battling a serious illness. Looking for answers or help online often led Pete and Peter to dead end websites or off-putting content and material. "Where are the online resources for the patients truly in need?' they thought.
Soon they began to hear similar complaints from friends and, often, professionals in the field. "Why isn't there a website out there that's patient-focused, one that centers on the health benefits of marijuana?" It quickly became clear to Pete and Peter that if a website like that was going to exist, they were probably going to have to build it themselves. And that's exactly what they did.
Since that time, many other people have joined the Hopegrown team -- artists, teachers, lawyers, and doctors all dedicated to developing an online resource to demystify the process of becoming a safe and legal medical marijuana patient.
In its simplest form, Hopegrown.org serves two functions: a finder to locate legal Doctors and Dispensaries and an educational tool to help navigate the world of medical marijuana.
Hopegrown is a movement, a community of like-minded people. It's an online resource dedicated to providing safe and reliable content for those who need it the most.
